Last year’s HTC made a huge investment in Beats Audio. As a result it started bundling Beats Audio software with the best headphones in the market. HTC has decided to stop bundling these premium headphones with its new phones. We will now see HTC and Beats taking steps into separate directions. Beats has purchased its shares back from HTC. Beats purchased 25% of its total shares for a amount of $150 million leaving HTC with about 25% of ownership and Beats founders with about 75%.

This will not change anything and the HTC & Beats exclusivity will be alive for the years to come. Beats Audio for smartphones are pretty much very good equalizer and sound-improvement software..
