Apple is planning to secure its trademark in the world of top level domains, Many other mobile market leaders like Samsung, HTC, Nokia have already taken the required steps to keep their brand name in their hands. There are not full details yet released by the company but they are about to take the .apple domain. Recently Apple Acquired the iPhone.com   domain after after filing a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). There are almost 1930 applicants for new URL suffixes to the Internet Corporation for assigned names and numbers. This type of domain are not publicly available and it of course they cost too high price and usually process though auctions. These domains are booked through private domain registration process. Each applicant requires to deposit a fee of $185,000 for submissions. The Approval process can take at least a year or two.

(Probably Apple Next Home Address)

Africa and latin America are making their first application to the Organization. For the coming 60 days the public can comment on any of the applications and the deciding panels will take it under consideration before granting top level domains. We’re defiantly not going to see www.apple.apple as its home page. ”mac.sales@apple.apple” this may look weird dont you think so? I would love to see Apple’s website pages as Home.Apple, Mac.Apple, iPod.Apple, iPhone.Apple after securing their Top Level Domain.

You can check the Full list of Suffix Applicants here. if you have ideas how apple can utilize this top Level domain leave a comment below!
